## About

The National Gandhi Museum and Library at Rajghat, New Delhi, sits directly opposite the Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi and holds a very rich collection of original relics, books, journals, documents, photographs, audio visual materials, art pieces and memorabilia connected with Mahatma Gandhi, Kasturba and the Indian freedom struggle. Established soon after the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi in 1948 and brought to its permanent home at Rajghat in 1959, it has grown into a resource centre for Gandhian and allied studies and research. Visitors can walk through galleries devoted to the entrance relics, the spinning wheel, photographs, commemorative items, the martyrdom relics and art, alongside one of the largest libraries of books and documents on Mahatma Gandhi. Entry is free and the museum welcomes individuals, families, school and college groups and international visitors.
